What can you expect from a Live Blood Screen (LBS)?
Live Blood Screening is the best clinical tool I have. Two drops of your blood is all I need to investigate your Red & White blood cells. LBS uses a microscope, a pc, and screen. You see what I see in Real Time and we'll discuss the images on the screen. The size, shape and ratios of your blood cells may tell me more about what's really going on for you, or simply reinforce what I already suspect. It's NOT a diagnostic tool. It IS a tool that helps me develop a more effective Health Plan for you. I use my PC/Screen and my microscope. You get to view your own blood in real time. Live blood screening does not replace standard lab tests, but nothing compares to seeing your own blood live on a screen in front of you. The condition and quality of your red blood cells reflects your current state of health. LBS is a qualitative approach. Your blood is still alive so it actually gives a good indication of how current diet and lifestyle may be affecting you on a functional level. It's also quite exciting seeing what your own cells look like! A Live Blood Screening assists me in reviewing many factors (some of which may be impacting on your health) such as :
This screening is included in my New Patient Detailed & Comprehensive consultations |
I also offer the following options as part of your consult:
Blood Pressure check ABO Blood Typing Tongue & Nail checks Mood & Stress assessment (additional charge may apply) Detox questionnaire (additional charge may apply) Outside of the above I commonly recommend the following: HTMA (hair tissue mineral analysis) - for assessing excretory levels of minerals to determine if there is a toxic burden we need to address. Find out more here. OAT (organic acids test) - this is a comorehensive metabolic snapshot, primarily to screen Yeast & Bacteria, also vitamins & antioxidants, fatty acid metabolism, and more. DUTCH(dried urine test for comprehensive hormones) - basic hormones, cortisol/androgen/estrogen metabolites, melatonin. If you're interested in either the OAT or DUTCH test you can view a couple of useful videos on this topic & other tests commonly used by Naturopaths here & here. |
